Location with tradition
Hafendorf Müritz
In 1997 Harald Kuhnle, engineer and head of the charter company KUHNLE-TOURS, bought the ailing shipyard along lake Claassee. He wanted a decent harbour for his charter fleet and planned to expand on the extensive grounds with apartments and leisure facilities. The charter boats of KUHNLE-TOURS, the Kormoran series, were so far built in a Dutch shipyard. Gradually KUHNLE-TOURS had modified those early boats and developed new types and manufacturing techniques. So it was logical to start building the boats on its own shipyard.
As the shipbuilding in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has a long tradition, it was not hard to find solid-trained staff. Harald Kuhnle soon had a team of well qualified smart specialists and the building of the first boat began.
The main location of the shipyard Kuhnle Werft is at the Hafendorf Müritz on the southeastern shore of the Müritz. But the technicians at the Bootshaus Zeuthen (Dahme), Erlebnissteg Seenplatte (Mecklenburg Lake District) and in the Marina Niderviller (Alsace-Lorraine) also help boat owners with advice and support.
