Self-designed-Kormoran
Practical, comfortable and a joy to use: Kuhnle Shipyards Kormorans
The Kormoran line is traditional, elegant and attractive. It is a classic and will not be out of place in 20 to 30 years time. We believe in the Kormoran and are convinced it is the perfect waterway charterboat. However maybe you feel otherwise or you have different criteria and priorities, do not let that stop you. Different colour scheme, different doors, different floor coverings or ceiling linings, let us know your ideas. How about a hinged flagstaff on the cabin top or a bathing ladder with teak steps? Or wall coverings of beech? A handful of little changes can make your Kormoran something special to you - truly your own boat.
Technical equipment
The traditional exterior of the Komoran-series with its vertical sides enables the Kormoran interior to be equipped with the most modern appliances and equipment. The propeller for example is driven by hydraulics, this enables the power to be transferred at the push of a button to either the propeller or the bow-thruster. This has the dual benefit of more head-room inside and a more reliable bow-thruster (They do not cut off when over-heating as electrical bow-thrusters are prone to do).
We offer charters on our Kormorans so we have tried and tested every aspect of the boats and their equipment, you as a buyer benefit from our years of experience. Furthermore our boats have equipment that is tried and tested, we have found that it is far better to have traditional boats with solid practical equipment that works rather than fancy boats with fancy equipment that continually breaks down. For example our electrical system is specified to industrial standards and is very economical and easy to maintain, imperative in a marine environment.
Standard equipment
Saloon: floor heating, CD-radio with an external connection (i.e. iPod, MP3-Player), light switch dimmers, steering position with depth-sounder, rudder position indicator, charge status indicator, tachometer, operating hour counter, 12-volt-socket for chargers, emergency cut-off for low voltage, panel for various aggregates.
Galley (kitchen): kitchen sink, four ring gas stove, refrigerator (Kormoran 1280 and 1500 have a second fridge).
Bathrooms: one bathroom per sleeping cabin, manual toilet, sink and sink top, extendable shower head and one piece shower tray (no leaks!), supplementary sink in one cabin (except Kormoran 940), outside shower with running cold and hot water.
Electrical system: 220-volt-land supply and a 220-volt transformer, battery storage of between 1500 up to 3000 watts, automated switching between shore power and battery, electrical sockets in each cabin and near the bathrooms (they utilise battery OR shore power), hot water heating with a boiler and a pressurised water system.
Equipment
Every Kormoran is supplied “ready to go”. Onboard is all you will need to depart on your waterway cruise. For example: we supply a log book, boat documents, anchor with chain, lifelines, four mooring lines, a life buoy, line and light accredited by the BSH. In addition we can even supply the further basics, curtains, pillows, saloon table and galley equipment, if you so wish.
Without a doubt our shipyard can fulfil your dream boat which is tailored to your needs. We also offer a number of useful extras, for example:
A supplementary bench seat, extra drawers in the kitchen, a washing machine, even an autopilot or navigation system indicating your location. How about playing a DVD on one or more hinged flat screens? In spite of the engine room containing a generator or an air-conditioning system there is always space for more ideas.
